    1. Thanks Ferdy. A scorpion light is simply a UV light. It converts their blood protein into a blue hue that glows under UV. I thought I posted one on JD before. If not I will. Posted 8 years ago
      1. Thanks, that makes sense. Not sure if you ever posted one, but I did find this awesome example:

        Scorpion under UV Fluorescent compounds in the exoskeletion of scorpion are responsible for this phenomenon but there is not concrete evidence as to why scorpions need to glow under UV light.<br />

''Lampropeltis elapsoides'', the scarlet kingsnake, was formerly classified as the subspecies ''L. t. elapsoides'', but is now recognized as a distinct species.
