Even though this bird is always in my garden it still remains to be extremely shy. Not a great photo, but the best I have managed so far!

  1. In my own garden, I'm noticing a strange pattern for years now. The bigger birds like magpies, pigeons and similar species are very shy. They flee even if I move inside my house. Despite feeding and not harming them for years. The small songbirds seem to be far less shy.

    Is that just me, or do you see the same?

    1. Absolutely! The pigeons and even thrush sized birds are really shy and timid but the little white-eyes and sunbirds let you get really close to them. The louries however are as bold as brass, sitting on the furniture demanding food! Posted 8 years ago

The Sombre Greenbul is a member of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is a resident breeder in coastal bush, evergreen forest and dry shrub land in eastern Africa from Ethiopia to the Cape in South Africa.
