Blue-throated Piping Guan in Pantanal I know that this looks more like a red-throated (those also exist) but if you look carefully you can see a small blue patch above the red dewlap on the throat (any in any case, our professional wildlife guide identified it for us). The blue-throated piping guan is a South American bird of the family Cracidae that is somewhat similar in appearance to the turkey.
