The Sulawesi Bear Cuscus I know that this is not a great photo - but these are really hard to photograph in the wild and it was very early in the morning and very dark in the forest - and thus you don't see many photos of these. The guide found it for us which was a good thing as I never would have spotted it - a small furry ball high in the trees. Still, a curious little animal with a very restricted range - the island of Sulawesi and a few nearby islands. The Sulawesi bear cuscus or Sulawesi bear phalanger is a species of marsupial in the family Phalangeridae. It is endemic to Sulawesi and nearby islands in Indonesia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical dry forests.
