Tropical mockingbird in white-sand forest, Inírida, Colombia
Showing some more scenery of this bizarre eco system named the "white-sand forest". We were alternating between walking through water knee level deep, waist level deep, and dry patches like these that show the white sand. You can imagine what the full heat of the Amazon does combined with beach sand and a pale skin. We were literally roasted.

The tropical mockingbird is a resident breeding bird from southern Mexico south to northern Brazil, and in the Lesser Antilles and other Caribbean islands. The birds in Panama and Trinidad may have been introduced.
