
Wedge-tailed grass finch, Inírida, Colombia
Relatively dull looking, making it hard to identify in the sea of birds that Colombia has to offer. However, some details make this one clear: the white mask around the eyes, the very yellow beak with its tiny curve, and its yellow/black feathers only partly visible here.

The wedge-tailed grass finch is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae; it was formerly placed in the Emberizidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Its major range is in southeastern South America in southern Brazil, Bolivia, eastern Paraguay, and extreme northeast Argentina in the cerrado, pantanal, and southern caatinga; it also ranges into northern Colombia.. more
