Welcome to the Amazon
Hereby opening part II of our trip to Colombia. The first part was in Santa Maria:

This second part is in the Amazonian region of Colombia, in the far east. Upon arriving there, we did a short hike where our first spotting was this omnipresent Roadside hawk.

The Roadside Hawk is a relatively small bird of prey found in Latin America. This vocal species is often the most common raptor in its range. It has many subspecies and is sometimes placed in the monotypic genus ''Rupornis'' instead of ''Buteo''.
