  1. This fellow looks like a mallard hybrid. Mallard ducks are notorious for cross breeding. They are quite successful at being able to cross species lines and produce viable offspring.. Posted 8 years ago

        1. Usually we just go for the mallard in this case, the system does not really support hybrids in any way. Posted 8 years ago
  2. hi Eros, since you asked for tips, here is one...
    You clearly captured this one from a human perspective, standing up and pointing the camera down on the duck. You will find that if you shoot the same scene at eye level, the result is often much more pleasing. Plenty of examples here:

The mallard or wild duck is a dabbling duck that breeds throughout the temperate and subtropical Americas, Eurasia, and North Africa, and has been introduced to New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Falkland Islands, and South Africa.
