
Highfin Fangblenny
The Highfin Fangblenny - Petroscirtes mitratus is mottled shades of greenish brown; tall front dorsal fin, hence its name.
Solitary or small groups among weedy habitats including beds of Sargassum algae.
This one was seen on the buoy line at a ship wreck dive.

"Petroscirtes mitratus", the floral blenny, floral fangblenny, helmeted blenny, or the crested sabretooth blenny, is a species of combtooth blenny found in coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian ocean. This species reaches a length of 8.5 centimetres TL.
