Yucatan Rustrump Tarantula These cross the roads in the early morning in the jungle of the Yucatan. We saw several of them on our early morning drive to the airport to fly home. Tliltocatl epicureanus, the Yucatan Rustrump, is a tarantula spider indigenous to the Mexican peninsula of Yucatán. Adults grow up to 7cm. Females are grey to black, whilst males have orange hair on their abdomen.
