
Grey Headed Fish Eagle
An fish eating raptor found in along the rivers in South East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. They are very similar to Lesser fish eagle and are more common than the latter.
IUCN puts them under Near Threatened red list.
Habitat loss is the prime reason for their numbers to dwindle.
The grey-headed fish eagle is a bird of prey. It breeds in the forests of the Indian subcontinent east to Southeast Asia. It builds a stick nest in a tree near water and lays two to four eggs. It is a specialist fish eater which hunts over lakes, lagoons, and large rivers.
