  1. Ouch, 75 types of anoles in Colombia: http://reptile-database.reptarium.cz/advanced_search?taxon=Dactyloidae&location=Colombia&submit=Search

Looks very much like (female?) Anolis antonii as shown on this page: http://www.dapaviva.org/en/biodiversidad/anfibios-y-reptiles/galeria-de-anfibios-y-reptiles-de-fernando-castro-herrera/

However, there are certainly other Anolis species in Colombia with a similar stripe down the back. Anolis fuscoauratus, for example, lives in both Peru and Colombia and I've seen ones in Peru with a similar stripe.

    1. It is definitely Anolis, though. Posted 8 years ago
    2. Heh, I'm feeling guilty now paining you with this. Indeed, when taking this photo I figured identifying it would be easy, given the specific look. How many can there be? Many.... Posted 8 years ago
      1. Pristimantis and Anolis happen to be two of the genera with the most species, so they are both particularly tough to ID. Posted 8 years ago
      2. Oh, also, I suspect that the white tail tip is either material on the leaf or something that got stuck to the end of the lizard's tail. Posted 8 years ago
        1. hah, and here I was thinking its some kind of signature trademark of the species :) Posted 8 years ago
