Green Seaweed (Caulerpa cactoides) This green seaweed appeared in two forms, one as a cluster and the other as an elongated string of vesicles attached to flattened median segments. This variation in appearance is apparently due to wave action in different parts of the bay. The seaweed's maximum length is about 45 cms. It is seen mostly near the sea floor. this one was washed ashore and spotted at low tide. A native to Australia, it is seen only in South Australian waters. 1. It has such an explicit shape, quite beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to capture and describe it! Posted 8 years ago
  2. You're welcome Ferdie.. We don't always find such interesting seaweeds washed ashore so I am always intrigued when I see one. Wouldn't it be nice to see them in water on the sea floor?! Posted 8 years ago
