Urban wildlife

Since returning from 4 Years in India... it has been tough not having so much wildlife on my doorstep. So i've started to make time to venture out to see what Paris has to offer.

I have no id, so please help... I think i need to buy me a good guide book, any suggestions?

There are some ducks and gulls at Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Luxembourg. They were frozen this time last year.

There are more birds in the Jardin des Plantes, including some rose-ringed parakeets.

There is also a zoo in the botanical garden

For a day trip you can go to Versailles.

The White Wagtail

The white wagtail is a small passerine bird in the wagtail family Motacillidae, which also includes the pipits and longclaws. This species breeds in much of Europe and Asia and parts of north Africa. It is resident in the mildest parts of its range, but otherwise migrates to Africa. It has a toehold in Alaska as a scarce breeder. In the British Isles the darker sub-species the pied wagtail predominates.
