      The man-made island is now known as Pulau Layang-Layang (Layang-Layang Island) was previously known as Swallow Reef. Layang-Layang is the Malay word for Swallows.
      The island is shared by a Dive Resort, Layang-Layang Island Resort (where I stayed) and Malaysian Navy.

The brown noddy or common noddy is a seabird related to terns. The largest of the noddies, it can be told from the closely related black noddy by its larger size and plumage, which is dark brown rather than black.
