Irrawaddy dolphin These threatened (vulnerable) Irrawaddy dolphin likes shallow waters, so are always seen close to shoe. This also means that they venture into the mangrove lined rivers in Sarawak. I spent a long time waiting to get a photo of a dolphin with the mangrove background. These threatened (vulnerable) Irrawaddy dolphin likes shallow waters, so are always seen close to shoe. This also means that they venture into the mangrove lined rivers in Sarawak. I spent a long time waiting to get a photo of a dolphin with the mangrove background. I am pleased with the result! :)

The Irrawaddy dolphin is a euryhaline species of oceanic dolphin found in discontinuous subpopulations near sea coasts and in estuaries and rivers in parts of the Bay of Bengal and Southeast Asia.
