Leafhopper on leaf, Santa María, Colombia

Found at night. About 1cm (4") in size, green wings with black markings, orange eyes, yellow snout.

Pretty sure this is something in Cicadellidae and not a cicada. Pretty cool bug, though. Lucky you for getting to explore Colombia! I was there briefly once and it was amazing. Posted 8 years ago

  Photos cannot be identified at the family level as you have requested, only at species. I think this is a Pseudometopia phalaesia.
