  2. I haven't a clue Ferdie. When I looked closely at the first few photos, I could see the yellow silk in the centre of the web the night before. I am not quite sure how it got stretched out. Also confusing is the fact that most orb weavers eat their web over night to conserve- not sure if this species does it judging by the same debris in the web as the night before. ill keep looking for infromation on that... ''Nephila plumipes'' is a species of spider found in Australia, Indonesia and some Pacific Islands, which exhibits extreme sexual dimorphism. It is sometimes called the tiger spider due to its markings which look similar to a tiger.
