False Oil Beetle

An emerald-green beetle in the family Oedemeridae, In a flower of the genus Scabiosa.
Habitat:
Forest and grasslands close to Zadar, Croatia. (June 1, 2016)

Hi Patomarazul, This is not the "Spanish Fly" (a true Oil Beetle - Meloidae), but a female of some species of Oedemera (a False Oil Beetle - Oedemeridae). It may well be Oedemera nobilis, but I'll have to do some cross checking with other species from the area that I'm less familiar with. Will get back and add the ID when I'm sure of it.

  I've checked with the rarer lookalikes from southern Europe, but this should be nobilis alright - added the ID :o)
