      I'll also keep trawling the old photos looking for misidentified birds. Also, I've just realized I never uploaded the photos from my 2010 trip to Colombia on JD. Not too many birds but quite a few cool invertebrates! Posted 8 years ago

        Ah yeah that's a fair mistake. A surprising number of Andean species are patterned in blue and yellow. But once you get an eye for euphonias, their jizz and specific shade of blue-black is one you'll be able to recognize anywhere. Posted 8 years ago

The White-naped honeyeater

The white-naped honeyeater is a passerine bird of the honeyeater family Meliphagidae native to eastern Australia. Birds from southwestern Australia have been shown to be a distinct species, Gilbert's honeyeater, and the eastern birds more closely related to the black-headed honeyeater of Tasmania.
