    1. There are 475 species of Castistiarina in Australia and maybe 200 of them in Victoria. I have seen less than 100 and there are over 30 on this site already. Like cicadas some species will not emerge for many years and it has been suggested that you need three lifetimes to see them all. This is a complex group due to mimicry but they are well understood because there are many enthusiasts. There are books written on this genus alone. This is not my first love and accordingly you will notice some of my photos are from Geoff Walker (my walking buddy) and Allen Sundholm (the local expert). Posted 8 years ago
