The Flasher Scorpionfish - Scorpaenopsis macrochir has shorter snout and less pronounced hump on back; colour highly variable. Inner surface of pectoral fin is brilliant yellow-orange with isolated black spots and wide black border.

    1. At a glance, they may look a bit different, but its mainly due to their lack of 'appendages' on their body, as compared to most species of Scorpionfishes, and which is also partly the reason sometimes, they are confused with Stonefishes.

The flasher scorpionfish or rough humpback scorpionfish, ''Scorpaenopsis macrochir'', is a scorpionfish from the Pacific. It occasionally is found in the aquarium trade. It grows to a maximum of 13 cm in length.
