Bali Sardines - Sardinella lemuru

A closer picture of the packed shoal of Sardines. When they are closely packed together, it is hardly possible to see through the 'wall'. And when swimming with the Sardines, its also like swimming in the water full of fish poo!

  There are Whales passing by the area during certain period of the year but they don't seems to hunt on this Sardines.
  
  Have seen Thresher Sharks hunting among the Sardines and it is a spectacular sight as the Thresher Sharks uses their tails to whip their preys. But in recent years, it is mostly Jacks/Trevally, Tunas and some other reef fishes that hunt among them. Posted 8 years ago

"Sardinella lemuru" is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus "Sardinella" found in the Eastern Indian Ocean and in the Western Pacific Ocean, in the area that stretches from southern Japan through the Malay Archipelago to the western Australia.
