This is a fossilised teeth of a Megalodon Shark - Carcharodon megalodon.
The size of this teeth is around 15-16 cm with the biggest teeth recorded was around 18 cm.

    1. Yes, it is unfortunate but they were extinct over 2 millions years ago!
      And since Sharks are cartilaginous, I guess the only fossil of them can only be their teeth and possibly the jaw too.

Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived approximately 23 to 2.6 million years ago, during the Cenozoic Era .

The taxonomic assignment of ''C. megalodon'' has been debated for nearly a century, and is still under dispute. The two major interpretations are ''Carcharodon megalodon'' or ''Carcharocles megalodon'' . Consequently, the scientific name of this species is commonly abbreviated ''C. megalodon'' in the literature.
