The Tasseled Scorpionfish - Scorpaenopsis oxycephala has long humped snout, eye cirri absent in adults, prominent skin tassels on lower head; small scales (60-65 in lateral row on side). Highly variable colour and markings.

The tassled scorpionfish, ''Scorpaenopsis oxycephala'', is a carnivorous ray-finned fish with venomous spines that lives in the Indian and Pacific oceans.
