Same critter me says. According to the remarks a revision would be in order, but for the time being it would seem that these may be identified as Astraea simillima. I'll cross check with other Astraea spp in some literature probably tomorrow. For now I'll tag as Astraea simillima.

There it is mentioned that supposedly Astraea is synonymized with Reineria, but for the species name they suggest flavopunctata. So that gives us Reineria flavopunctata and Reineria simillima to investigate ... and maybe some species in the genus Euglypta. In short: It'll need more research ...     Hi Albert, I'm still trying to get my head around this one :-/ I have checked with the book by Sakai & Nagai (Cetoniine Beetles of the World) and in that the only match is flavopunctata, but it doesn't have simillima and some other closely related species ... still trying to find more info/publications and just found the revision by Miksic online (only parts 2-4, not 1) so hopefully it is covered there - still downloading though, so I will need some more time ....       I came across another reference showing very similar looking specimen also from the same Island I saw this one, so am setting the ID to Euglypta flavopunctata. Posted 5 years ago
