    1. Yes, they are, Ferdy and they are venomous!

      A diver friend of mine got stung by one of them on his finger during a dive. Within an hour, the palm was swollen and by the next hour, the whole arm was swollen to more than twice the size and he was in excruciating pain!

"Neochirus brachypterus", known commonly as the shortfin turkeyfish or dwarf lionfish among other vernacular names, is a species of marine fish in the family Scorpaenidae. Shortfin turkeyfish is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific, Red Sea included.
