
The Green Dragon
There is only one species of chameleon in India. They are very well camouflaged and very difficult to spot one during day. At night they can see seen sleeping on the edges of a branch. They are harmless reptiles found in most parts of the country. Their prime habitat is dry deciduous forest.
They are ovoviviparous. They are known for its characteristic independent eye movements, ability to change its colors and the prehensile tail.
The Indian chameleon, "Chamaeleo zeylanicus" is a species of chameleon found in Sri Lanka, India, and other parts of South Asia.
