This is a female Phasmid from the species Asceles margaritatus brevipennis, newly described in May 2016 from Mt. Kinabaly, a high altitude species.
The name of the species, brevipennis is derived from the Latin words; brevis - short and pennis - wings.

Asceles margaritatus brevipennis Seow-Choen, 2016 is a subspecies of Phasmid from the subfamily Necrosciinae Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893 and tribe of Necrosciini Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1893.
