Two-toned Pygmy Squid - Idiosepius pygmaeus This Two-toned Pygmy Squid - Idiosepius pygmaeus are very small, usually around 1 cm or smaller although it is indicated in Wikipedia they can grow up to 2 cm. Probably the 2 cm size includes their extended tentacles.

In this picture, there are actually 2 of them, the one on the left is smaller in size and is trying to hide among the Crinoid. The bigger one is having a shrimp for a meal.

They are mostly seen during the early part of the night when they come out to hunt/feed.

Their tiny size makes them confused for juveniles/baby but that is not so. Fall,Geotagged,Idiosepius pygmaeus,Malaysia,Pygmy Squid,Sabah,Squid,Two-toned Pygmy Squid Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro
