Spider in the bath This spider was in my bath last night. Brighton, UK. I wasn't sure what to do, I don't think he was capable of getting out by himself, and didn't want anyone else to get bitten by standing on him in bare feet, so I offered him a feather duster and he agreed to climb on, and I shook it outside. I hope he made it somewhere safe. I have no idea what species of spider he is, but I didn't want to get bitten. 1. Goob job on giving him a 2nd chance. Posted 8 years ago
  2. I think he might be a Snake's Back Spider, Segestria senoculata because of the markings on the abdomen and that the abdomen is more elongated than most spiders.

"Segestria senoculata" is a species of spider belonging to the family Segestriidae. It has a Palearctic distribution. As with other members of this family, this spider makes a tubular web in a crevice and darts out to catch prey which crosses trip lines which fan out from the tube's entrance.
