  1. That was a fun encounter on a walking safari! Our guide, who was perfectly comfortable looking for lions on foot (unfortunately, we didn't see them), was terrified of this guy, though he relaxed once he realized it was a gentle python, and not a massive puff adder as he'd first thought.       1. Well, a lot of Africans I've encountered have a very deep fear of snakes, for good reason of course. But unfortunately, a lack of education leads to the unnecessary killings of tons of harmless species... Posted 8 years ago

"Python sebae", commonly known as the African rock python, is a large, nonvenomous snake of Sub-Saharan Africa. The African rock python is one of seven species in the genus "Python". It has two subspecies: one found in Central and Western Africa, the other in Southern Africa.
