Stiletto Fly (Acraspisoides helviarta) This slender black stiletto fly was about 18 mm long. It was mostly black except for the tarsi, antennae and palps which were a light brown. Colourless wings had black triangular patterns. The abdomen had thin white bands. Legs were very long.<br />
Spotted near the garden shed.<br />
Like many other in the family, this one was behaving like a wasp - restless and very active.<br />
