
Masked Bee (Hylaeus nubilosus)
About 11 mm long, this black bee had yellow marks on the thorax and legs. The scutellum was also a bright yellow. Barely visible in the photo is the bright yellow patch on the face which gives these family of bees the common name of "masked bee".

"Hylaeus nubilosus" is a species of insect within the genus "Hylaeus". It is commonly referred to as the cloudy masked bee.
