    1. There's always things in all stages of youth and decay. Unless we get a stretch of really cold weather - under freezing -there will constantly be new fungi popping up and it will be possible to find cool things until it gets too warm next spring. It's been a bit wet recently so some of the more delicate species were pretty mushy.. Posted 8 years ago

''Helvella elastica'', commonly known as the flexible Helvella, or the elastic saddle, is a species of fungi in the Helvellaceae family, Pezizales order. It is found in Asia, Europe, and North America. It has a roughly saddle-shaped yellow-brown cap atop a whitish stipe, and grows on soil in woods. Another colloquial name is the brown elfin saddle.
