
"Rickenella fibula" or "Omphalina fibula" is a species of fungus belonging to the genus "Rickenella". The cap is quite small, with a diameter usually less than 1 centimetre.

These look very much like Rickenella fibula to me, especially if they are as orange as they appear in the photo and if they occur in your area. Posted 8 years ago
I have in the local bookstore a book given to the two hundred most common species in the Netherlands, I'm thinking of buying it so I am better able to find the kind of good. Posted 8 years ago

Mike, fungi are the hardest category of nature to identify. I have a great book at home and still get many of them wrong. In fact, if you want to be really sure, you have to take a sample home and investigate it under a microscope. You also need to photograph the underside, and sometimes even the smell can be an indicator.
It simply is a very hard thing to do. My advise on JungleDragon is that if you're reasonably sure, you can identify the fungi. If you're far from sure, it's probably better to not identify it and share what you know in the description. Posted 8 years ago
