  1. You manage to blend in the seasons so well, with the slightly cooler tones. Well done! Posted 5 years ago
    1. Thanks so much for that appreciation, Ferdy, it means a lot! A few days later, almost at the same hour of the day I've returned to the same location, where the weather conditions were practically the same. There I had a chance to spot and photograph a female Orthetrum chrysostigma, amidst the dried herbs with same tone range for the background. Standard options of the nikon software have a great fidelity to lightning and colors. Sometimes I think that some of photos are undersaturated, but it is the only way to achieve that clear glimpse of moment you are trying to perceive. I've just uploaded that photo, the file of Orthetrum chrysostigma gets a new female species entry :) Thanks again, and for that reminder, cheers*

      1. You have a very defined style that is subtle, sharp, but also soft. I Immediately recognize them when I see the thumbnail and I'm a longtime fan :) Whilst I appreciate that style greatly, one thing amazes me even more: the pretty much perfect focus and separation between subject and background. I strive for that but only succeed in it by exception, for you it seems to be normal.

I think you're referring to Nikon's picture control? Which value do you use for that?

        1. Yes, Picture Control Settings:
Standard - Sharpness, medium; Contrast, Brightness, Saturation, Hue = 0
          White Balance - Daylight
          Color Space - sRGB
