Interval of 7 years
This is famous Karvy flower from India which blooms only once in 8 years. This year there was mass blooming almost everywhere they are found. Next mass blooming will be in 2024.
Juice from their leaves is believed to be a sure cure on stomach ailments.
This plant comes alive in monsoon, otherwise only a dry stem remains all the year.
I am happy to witness this phenomenon at 4 different forests around my city
Edit: I edited this caption as 2024 from 2023. As it's after the interval of 7 years and hence, once in 8 years (and not 7 as per my earlier caption).
Also, yes! we here in India witnessed the mass flowering at multiple locations this year.

"Strobilanthes callosa" is a shrub found mainly in the low hills of the western ghats all along the west coast of India. Its standardized Hindi language name is Maruadona by which it is called in the state of Madhya Pradesh where it is also found. In the state of Maharashtra in the Marathi language and other local dialects and in the neighboring state of Karnataka the shrub is locally known as Karvi, sometimes spelled in English as Karvy.
