Juvenile Lesser Grey Shrike Rather excited to see a family of these shrikes as they are an uncommon summer visitor. Hopefully I will get a photo of the adults. Not the best photo as I was inappropriately armed for a distant bird shot! The Lesser Grey Shrike is a member of the shrike family ''Laniidae''. It is similar in appearance to the Great Grey Shrike ''Lanius excubitor'' and the Southern Grey Shrike ''L. meridionalis''. It breeds in southeastern Europe and into Asia.
