CAP 2.5-10 cm across, somewhat umbonate, orange-brown to yellow-brown or red-brown,; slimy, bald, when moist striate on margin; flesh whitish to yellowish, may turn brownish in lower stem. GILLS adnate to notched, 40-50 reaching stem, 3 subgills between neighboring gills; pinkish gray, light gray, or pale cream, then discolored by spores. STIPE 5-10 cm x 0.6-2.0 cm, more or less equal or narrowing toward base; slimy, whitish but usually tinged blue-violet from the inner veil especially when young,.. more
