  1. It's a flower mantis Creobroter sp., maybe Creobroter gemmatus. Do you have a photo of the pattern on the wings to confirm the ID? Posted 5 years ago
    1. Yes, here you go https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/25556665/DSC_4718.jpg

      1. Thanks, it seems that there are a few similar species that are dificult to identify and that some of the photos available online have been misidentified. I couldn't find any information on their distribution range either. I'll ask one of our members StuartStuart who is rearing similar mantises if he knows more about them.

You can upload this second photo to JD too and link them in the description.

  3. Hi - what a wonderful picture. Sorry for the delay in responding, been stupidly busy with work. I believe you have the species correct - as Wildflower says, there are a number of species that look almost identical. I don't believe it is the similar Creobroter Nebulosa as the patterns on the raptorial arms are slightly different. Also, the colour of the 'hood' appears to be brown rather than green as shown in your picture. After checking, I do think that a great number of images on various sources online have been incorrectly identified as 1 species rather than the other but I'm not at a level yet where I can definitively say that this species is 'X'.
