Saw it at Dangerous Creatures exhibit in uShaka Marine World, Durban.

They are beauties for sure. Quite common in my area, and we always have to watch our feet (especially in the woods). They blend in perfectly with leaf litter. Posted 4 years ago

''Agkistrodon contortrix'' is a species of venomous snake found in North America, a member of the Crotalinae subfamily. The more common name for the species is the "copperhead." The behavior of ''Agkistrodon contortrix'' may lead to accidental encounters with humans. Five subspecies are currently recognized, including the nominate subspecies described here.
