Too close? This is an Oceanic Black Tip Shark - Carcharhinus limbatus which we encountered during Sharks dives in Umkomaas, South Africa.  We saw many of them coming in for the baited dives, they were circling us during the dives and even when we come up to our Boat, they were following us and circling the Boat after the dive.<br />

The blacktip shark is a species of requiem shark, and part of the family Carcharhinidae. It is common to coastal tropical and subtropical waters around the world, including brackish habitats. Genetic analyses have revealed substantial variation within this species, with populations from the western Atlantic Ocean isolated and distinct from those in the rest of its range.
