Making love to a Stick This is a pair of Phasmid of the species, Lonchodes dalawangsungay.
The Male of Phasmids are usually much smaller than the Females of the same species, usually 2/3rd the size, but sometimes, half the size.
Saw this pair, with the Male trying to copulate with the Female, but he is not getting his end of the abdomen to the right part of the abdomen of the Female! Talk about clumsy pairings. In the picture, you can see the Male's end of abdomen is just at the part of the hind legs of the female, he needs to be at the end of the abdomen.

The species name, dalawangsungay is a local term (Tagalog) for the 2 horns found on the Females. The Males of this species does not has the 2 horns.
