A Helmeted Basilisk clinging to a vertical branch in Golfito, Costa Rica
These lizards are known locally as "Old Man Lizards" because of their habit of staying perfectly still, relying on their camouflage rather than their speed. (Which is good, as they do not have speed.)

The Helmeted Basilisk or is a species of lizard endemic to the New World. It is found from southern Mexico to South America in rainforests. With long limbs, it climbs well, and feeds on insects, spiders, worms, and other lizards.
