    1. Sorry, I didn't take the picture of the whole fungi with them on the underside.
      The fungi is a big one on a tree trunk. The Violin Beetles are on its underside.

  2. I have always assumed this beetle is a mimic of a large winged seedpod of some thing like the Bushwillow (Combretum). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combretum Can anyone confirm this? Posted 8 years ago
    1. Now that you mentioned it, Martin, yes, they do looks a bit similar to the gliding seed pods.
      Am not sure if that is the intention of mimicry.
      I usually find this Violin Beetles under the big Fungi.
