Eurasian Spoonbills, Biesbosch, Netherlands
A conservation success story. In the 1970s there were only 170 breeding pairs in our country, now there are 2.500 pairs. Which makes it a unique group as they do not breed anywhere else in the northwest of Europe. They migrate to the Netherlands via swamps in Spain and France.
The Eurasian Spoonbill or Common Spoonbill is a wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill family Threskiornithidae.
