Stick Insect, Phasmid - Calvisia (Nigracalvisia) flavopennis This is a very colourful Phasmid - Calvisia flavopennis, not a big species, just around 6cm.
This species was newly described in May this year, 2016.
The species name flavopennis refers to Yellow Wings (flavo = yellow and pennis = wings, in Latin) but the picture shows her wings of more brown/orange. So, this could be a variation in the colours of the wings.
This is a female, with 2 red bands on her prothorax. Her abdomen is red/pink in colour and she has blue legs. Calvisa,Calvisia flavopennis,Geotagged,Malaysia,Phasmid,Stick Insect,Summer Click/tap to enlarge PromotedSpecies introCountry intro
