  1. Sorry, a bit too far away for me. It has a bit of a cuckoo shape, but that's just a guess. Posted 9 years ago
    1. It might be an oriole blackbird (Gymnomystax mexicanus), but I wouldn't stake my life on it. Posted 9 years ago
      1. I think that is quite a good candidate, known to occur in the north east, colors match, and so does the size. Posted 9 years ago
        1. On my list that I made of ' spotted species ' I have written oriole blackbirds so that fits.
          Accordingly I have taken the liberty of identifying it as such. I will see if I can find another photo of it.

The oriole blackbird is a species of bird in the family Icteridae. Its genus, ''Gymnomystax'', is monotypic. It is a medium-sized yellow and black bird found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela, where its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, and swamps.
