Mother & Child Saw this Group of Dusky Leaf Monkey or Spectacled Monkey just around the corner of where I am staying in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. Was surprised to see them, and they are still very shy to humans. They came down from the nearby forest/hill in the morning to forage for food. There were around 20 of them in the Group and several females were carrying babies. Two of the babies are still very young and have orangish furs, which also means they are 1-2 months old.

This species have 7 subspecies, each with their habitat ranges and each having differing pelage colorations. This Spotting is most likely Trachypithecus obscurus obscurus, based on the location.

The Dusky Leaf-Monkey is a folivorous species, but it will also consume fruit and flowers.
